Skara Brae
This is the best-preserved Neolithic village in northern Europe. A settlement where folk were neighbours before the pyramids had been built in Egypt. At more than 5000 years old, Skara Brae has been around since well before Stonehenge.
Village life here came to a close around 2500BC but folk left their homes in great condition for us to peruse. There is even evidence of their furniture. The houses in the Skara Brae settlement are truly amazing to experience, such is their impressive preservation.
The Orkney Islands take some effort to get to but once you arrive you will know immediately it was well worth coming. To explore across the water and visit places like Dunnet, Whaligoe and Keiss, get in touch and our minibus and coach hire will take you there.
