This is one of the most beloved castles in Scotland if not the UK. It even has a moat that’s still full. No drawbridge nowadays, though. A safe, sturdy walkway takes visitors into the heart of this Medieval fortress.

The building is a ruin but a lot of the structure remains. Only a little imagination is needed to conjure up images of past lives lived in this incredible construction. There is also a cosy cafe, an adventure park with a castle theme for the little ones, a woodland walk and the remnants of another castle waiting to be discovered as you wander the grounds.
